Overview of the course
The eligibility criterion to pursue the D.El.Ed course is a pass in the XII exam from a recognized Board or equivalency. Those who have completed the course have multi-choices. Either they can do the B.Ed course or they can get employed in nurseries or educational institutions. Since there are many kindergartens all over the world, the job scope for these professionals is also in a hike. In vast developed cities, most of the parents send their kids to day care’s. Professionals who have completed the D.Ed course can search out for jobs in day care’s or in any other Government or private schools. D.El.Ed passed outs are even licensed to do start nurseries, in which they can provide education to many kids.

Although B.Ed. and D.El.Ed are concerned with education training programs, these are entirely different ones. As the former qualifies the aspirants to become school teachers up to 12th, D.El.Ed qualifies aspirants to become nursery teachers. The duration of the course is still under debate. Usually it is one-year course. But an open university like Indira Gandhi National University (IGNOU) offers B. Ed course with a minimum duration of two years. The Right of Free and Compulsory Education for Children (RTE Act-2009) came into force as an act from April 2010. The act emphasis on the quality education for every child. Therefore to improve the quality in education, the quality of teachers must be a crucial factor. With a view to bring quality in education, the entry level percentage to B.
